THE SEDUCTION OF ART
I have always been seduced by the city of Granada (Spain), a city with an amazing nature environment, color, energy and culture. I decided to create in 2015 my first artwork series inspired himself in Granada and its artists.
Thankfully we counted with the support of the Flamenco artist group Clavel & Flamenco which inspired my artwork with their music, dance and identity.
The artistic creation portrays the members of the Flamenco group Clavel & Flamenco in differents supports and locations which represents the beauty, moves and energy.
The project contains two art forms: LIKE THE WATER and PERCUSAO.
LIKE THE WATERGranada, 2015
LIKE THE WATER, Granada 2015. “Spray on glass”.
3 safety glasses of 3 + 3 mm, of 162 cm height x 90 cm width each one, sliding on a frame of pine wood, where you can combine them in different ways. Painted with enamel spray paint.
– Measures of the work closed: 165 cm height x 105 cm width.
– Measures of the work open: 165 cm height x 300 cm width.
This piece represents the flamenco dancer Cristina from the group Clavel & Flamenco in “El Carmen de los mártires” Granada (Spain), where i was captivated by its colors, smells and its textures. The composition of spaces and sounds, his beautiful and aquatic sound that once again, take us back to a different world in which everything was flowing “like water”.
As the artist felt the composition, he wants to present the reality that he experienced at that instant in three different dimensions represented in three crystals. For this purpose, the artistic work is formed by three dimensions.
First dimension: the deepest one, in “Las cuevas del Sacromonte”.
Second dimension: the flamenco dancer movement, in “La playa de Maro”. Where the peace and the movement of sea water generate a unique location.
Third dimension: our dimension. In the thermal water of “Santa Fé” with the energy of the water drops in order to give the whole composition a magical touch.
Second dimension. Playa de Maro
Third dimensión. Aguas termales de Santa Fé
PERCUSAO, Granada 2015. Spray on Flamenco box (Wood).
Hanging structure with 7 wooden musical drawers of 30x30x70 cm each, held by ropes that cross them and fasten them to the ceiling. Painted with spray on its front and side sides.
This piece represents the original rhythm, the deepest feeling of culture and migration. Using the number “7” as a rhythm on the way.
The gypsy culture is more than a hundred years old and the flamenco box a relatively recent element in this culture. It is the best example of how migrations create an enrichment of culture, the art of living and deep spirituality.
As a result of cultural mix, Percusao was created with this purpose in such a special location as “Las cuevas del Sacromonte” in Granada (Spain).
